I had heard nothing but great things about Prague from everyone I talked to. That is why we planned to stay five nights instead of four like most of the other cities we went to. I am certainly glad we did that, especially because it rained on and off several of the days we were there.
While transportation is simple enough, and cheap, we decided to walk everywhere. Our hotel was about one mile from the Charles Bridge and many other tourist attractions, so it only took about 15-20 minutes to see most places.
The first day we arrived, it was later in the afternoon. We decided to walk around our hotel to see what we were near and then grab some dinner. We found a Korean restaurant that we decided to try (because you can never have enough Korean food). Shortly after arriving and waiting to order, two of the workers got into a physical fight. There was yelling and screaming and breaking things. Finally they calmed down, and we had a wonderful meal. After dinner, we found a place to have a few drinks and some dessert on the porch. Guess what?! An ambulance showed up and parked right in front of us. They must have treated whomever they came to see, because they didn't leave with anyone. Man, what a strange first night in Prague!
Part of the reason I write this blog is to document our travels. I have a terrible memory, and this is one way to help me remember what we do. However, since I didn't write this immediately after being there, I'm having a hard time remembering things. So, here is my best....
On one of the days, we took a walking tour around Prague. This walking tour was our favorite one out of all of the cities we've done one in! It was a wonderful mix of history, walking, and culture. We also decided to do a tour of the Prague Castle. Again, this was another excellent tour.
After seeing the castle during the day, I was really interested in seeing it at night while it was lit up. I had heard that the bridge was less crowded early in the morning and late at night. That was absolutely true! Unfortunately, while on the bridge, Zach did feel a hand in his pocket trying to get his wallet. Fortunately, Zach felt it and was able to push it away and save his wallet!
One of my goals while in Prague was to take pictures similar to the pictures my sister took while she was there about seven years earlier. I was able to get a few. Haha! Not only that, but I was able to Skype with her and my father.
I loved Prague! People weren't kidding when they said it was a beautiful place.
